ONE WORLD
FULL SPECTRUM
Protecting disadvantaged people The impacts of global conflict on the lives of people already struggling is an issue which pulls at me deeply. The experience of a civilian away from the front lines brings its own hardships. Economies grind to a halt, medicines and daily supplies dry up, and weapons even target civilians specifically. The long road of a refugee is a challenge no human should have to endure. While at the same time it can be luxury that not all are afforded. There are groups and individuals doing inspiring work to help all these people, and I would like to tell their stories in a way that brings attention and support. |
Pushing for better democracies The regimes currently in control of our world's condensed and splintered societies operate within a broad spectrum of legitimacy. Kings, queens, and dictators still roam palace halls, while elsewhere democratic models stumble forward and backward. Dissatisfaction erupts, media companies push narratives over truth, political parties polarize, inequality intensifies. It looks really wobbly out there. Getting to a place where the people have control over who leads them, and who makes their laws, is a struggle manifesting itself differently from the soil of every society, and I'm so here for it. I believe we will reach a king-free world, and I want to tell the stories that are getting us there. |
Supporting local communities When the world finds itself facing large-scale threats, it becomes even more necessary to strengthen the capacity of small-scale, community-driven organizations. In every city, one can find groups of people who dedicate so much of their time and energy to helping the people around them. Building solidarity, support networks, and a sense of togetherness will always be a direction I am looking to engage in. |
